Claude: Mastery — Leading Work with Claude
The expert level for experienced Claude users in any role, built on the 4Ds of AI fluency: Delegation, Description, Discernment and Diligence. Choose the right Claude approach for each job, supervise Claude when it acts, package your expertise as Skills, build team tools with Artifacts, check numbers, handle sensitive data, write specs others can build, measure impact and lead adoption on your team. For experienced Claude users in any business role, no technical background needed. Developers should take the Claude Mastery: Developer Track instead. No code
What this course covers
The course runs across 10 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.
- Delegation: the right tool for each job — Six realistic requests: decide between a chat, a Project, a connector, a Skill, Research or handing it to a developer, and say why
- Supervising Claude when it acts — Set checkpoints and approvals when Claude takes actions, and know when to stop it
- Packaging your expertise as a Skill — Turn something you know how to do into a plain-English Skill and test it on two examples
- Team tools with Artifacts — Build a tracker, calculator or intake form a colleague will use, then test it as if you were a new user
- Discernment with numbers — Analyse a spreadsheet with Claude, catch two planted errors, and explain how you checked
- Diligence: data, privacy and high stakes — What never goes into Claude, how to verify outputs that matter, and when to disclose AI use
- Writing a spec someone else can build — Write a spec clear enough for a developer or for Claude Code for Everyone to build from
- Measuring impact — Estimate time saved and quality gained, and write a short business case
- Leading adoption on your team — Run a walkthrough, share a Project or Skill, and handle a sceptical colleague
- Capstone: redesign one workflow end to end — Redesign one real workflow with a Project, Skill or Artifact, a quality check, a before/after time estimate and a rollout note
Skills you build
Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.

They finish by measuring impact honestly and leading adoption on their team. No code.
- Claude for Developers: Mastery — Building with the API & Agents — Build production systems on the Claude API: the Messages API, images and documents as input, streaming, tool use, agents, MCP in your own apps, guardrails enforced in code, evaluating quality, and cost, caching and rate limits. No code.
- Claude Code for Developers: Mastery Exam — A Claude Code proficiency check for engineers: scoping a change, reviewing what the model produced, and knowing what to hand over and what to write yourself.
- Claude for Everyone Pathway — Complete fluency in Claude from first touch to building. Also includes 4 optional playbooks (Writing & Communication, Research, Data & Analysis, Coding) to take any time after Essentials; they don't count toward the certificate.
