Claude Code for Developers: Advanced
An advanced course on running Claude Code as a serious engineering tool. Learners orchestrate agentic workflows with MCP, integrate with CI, and manage large refactors safely with guardrails and review gates.
What this course covers
The course runs across 13 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.
- Introduction to Claude Code: Advanced — An advanced course on running Claude Code as a serious engineering tool. Learners orchestrate agentic workflows with MCP, integrate with CI, and manage large refactors safely with guardrails and review gates.
- Setting Up and Configuring Claude Code — Install the Claude Code CLI, configure authentication, and establish the baseline environment for advanced agentic operations.
- Orchestrating Agentic Workflows — Understand agentic loops, define execution boundaries, and direct Claude Code to autonomously solve multi-step engineering tasks.
- Extending Capabilities with Model Context Protocol (MCP) — Connect Claude Code to standard MCP servers to grant the agent access to external filesystems, databases, and web APIs.
- Developing Custom MCP Servers — Write and integrate a custom MCP server to expose proprietary internal tools and domain-specific actions to Claude Code.
- Scripting and Non-Interactive Automation — Automate Claude Code tasks using CLI flags, environment variables, and piped inputs for headless operation.
- Integrating Claude Code into CI/CD Pipelines — Embed Claude Code into GitHub Actions or GitLab CI to run automated pull request reviews, formatting checks, and security audits.
- Architecting Large-Scale Codebase Refactors — Leverage Claude Code to map system dependencies, analyze impact, and draft a structured plan for multi-file architectural changes.
- Executing Safe, Multi-File Refactoring — Run iterative refactoring loops, resolve merge conflicts, and dynamically run unit tests to verify system stability.
- Implementing Strict Guardrails and System Prompts — Define execution boundaries, restrict file system access, and configure guardrails to prevent unintended agent actions.
- Establishing Review Gates and Human-in-the-Loop Approvals — Configure approval gates for critical actions, ensuring human developers review and sign off on high-impact code modifications.
- Context Window Management and Token Optimization — Analyze token usage, optimize codebase indexing, and manage context windows during massive engineering tasks.
Skills you build
Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.
Who it is for
Senior developers, platform teams. The material is pitched at advanced level, and takes roughly 150 minutes at a typical pace. Because every session adapts, someone who already knows a topic moves through it quickly instead of sitting through an explanation they do not need.
It sits in the Tool: Claude track of the Vero AI Catalog, and can be assigned to one person, a team, or the whole company.
How it is delivered and assessed
Delivery is conversational and interactive, including guided lab, branching scenario exercises. There is no video to sit through and no slide deck to click past.
Understanding is checked with a tool assessment of 5 items, with a pass mark of 70%.
Administrators can copy this course into their own library and adapt it — edit the outline, change the duration, swap the assessment format, or ground it in internal documentation so answers cite the company's own source material.

Learners map a process, write their own skills, design instruction systems for a team, chain multi-tool steps with checkpoints, schedule and monitor automations, and prove the time saved.
- Claude for Developers: Advanced — Agentic Engineering — Agentic engineering with Claude Code: plan before coding, run subagents and parallel work, add hooks and guardrails, run Claude Code headless in CI, share Skills and plugins with a team, manage security and permissions, and control cost and speed
- Claude: Advanced — Power Workflows & Automation — This course fills the step between everyday fluency and building on the platform: running Claude at an expert level without writing code. Learners design multi-step workflows, automate recurring work with Projects, custom instructions, and connected tools, and set personal systems that compound over weeks. They finish as the person on the team others come to for Claude technique.
- Claude Code for Everyone: Core — The working level for non-technical builders: keeping your Claude Code-built tools alive and useful. Learners improve and fix their own tools, connect them safely to real files and data, and reuse what works. They finish knowing their limits - and exactly when to hand something to an engineer.
- Claude Cowork: Mastery — Plugins, Governance & Rollout — Lead Cowork across an organization. Learners build and share plugins, run skill libraries, evaluate connectors, set governance and approval policies, roll Cowork out function by function, monitor usage and outcomes, and handle incidents — finishing with a plugin and rollout plan for a real team.
- Claude Code for Developers: Mastery Exam — A Claude Code proficiency check for engineers: scoping a change, reviewing what the model produced, and knowing what to hand over and what to write yourself.
