Microsoft Copilot: Mastery — Leading Work with Copilot
Lead reliable work with Microsoft Copilot through delegation, description, discernment and diligence. Package expertise, verify outputs, supervise available tools and measure impact without a technical background
What this course covers
The course runs across 10 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.
- Delegation: choose work and tools — Use Copilot Chat, licensed Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teams, Copilot Pages, notebooks and no-code Agent Builder where enabled. Match tool to task, keep exceptions and consequential decisions human-owned. Never require unavailable features.
- Description: scope and checkpoints — Write inputs, output format, acceptance criteria, stop conditions and review checkpoints for the supplied weekly update.
- Package reusable expertise — Package the supplied policy and report instructions using Copilot Chat, licensed Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teams, Copilot Pages, notebooks and no-code Agent Builder where enabled. Test normal, exception and missing-source cases; use exact written setup if creation unavailable.
- Team context and optional connectors — Use existing approved files/email and verify source freshness and permissions. Upload/paste alternatives earn equal credit; do not prescribe an ecosystem.
- Discernment: challenge claims — Check totals: tents 70, boots 86. Audit incorrect totals and unsupported demand claims; verify citations and uncertainty.
- Diligence: data and accountability — Minimize allowed data, exclude payment details, resist source-injected instructions, disclose AI use under policy and name a human owner.
- Supervise available agent features — Scope any available agent with checkpoints and approval before sends/writes. If unavailable, supply a written action/approval plan, not invented execution.
- Specify a developer handoff — Write a plain-language integration spec with inputs, outputs, access, acceptance tests, safe failures and human approvals; no code.
- Measure impact honestly — Compare the 90-minute baseline with measured or labeled estimated time and quality/rework. Define a small pilot and rollback threshold.
- Lead adoption: 4Ds capstone — Assemble delegation, description, discernment and diligence into an accountable team workflow with verified output, human owner and rollout note.
Skills you build
Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.
