Microsoft Copilot: Core — Agents & Cross-App Work

Use available Copilot Chat and Microsoft 365 apps for grounded cross-app work, Pages/notebooks and simple no-code agents; approved access and upload paths without developer setup

What this course covers

The course runs across 9 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.

  • Copilot Chat versus Microsoft 365 Copilot — Distinguish work chat access from licensed app-grounded Microsoft 365 Copilot. Check company license and enabled features; no upgrade required.
  • Word: a grounded first draft — Use the supplied policy/notes to draft a brief; verify source claims and give clear audience/format.
  • Excel: verify figures before interpreting — Use supplied CSV to ask for calculations and a labeled chart. Independently check totals 70/86; no code reading.
  • PowerPoint: turn checked notes into slides — Create a concise three-slide update from verified facts; check claims and audience. Written slide outline earns equal credit if app feature unavailable.
  • Outlook and Teams: accountable communication — Summarize supplied mock email/meeting notes, separate decisions and owners and draft a reply; human approves sends. Never require actual mailbox/meeting access.
  • Copilot Pages and notebooks — Use Pages for editable collaborative output and notebooks for scoped source context when available; exact written setup if unavailable.
  • Simple agents with Agent Builder — Build a simple no-code knowledge/instruction agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot when admin-enabled. Scope supplied sources, test exceptions and ask a human for unsupported requests. Not Copilot Studio pro-development.
  • Cross-app handoff and optional connectors — Hand checked facts from spreadsheet to document/slides/reply using approved access or upload/paste. Never require connector, personal account, license change, Power Automate, APIs or ALM.
  • Capstone: a source-grounded work package — Package verified update, slide outline and reply with a source/number check log, simple agent instructions and human review owner.

Skills you build

Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.

Who it is for

Experienced Microsoft Copilot users in any role — no technical background needed. The material is pitched at intermediate level, and takes roughly 150 minutes at a typical pace. Because every session adapts, someone who already knows a topic moves through it quickly instead of sitting through an explanation they do not need.

It sits in the Tool: Microsoft Copilot track of the Vero AI Catalog, and can be assigned to one person, a team, or the whole company.

How it is delivered and assessed

Delivery is conversational and interactive. There is no video to sit through and no slide deck to click past.

Understanding is checked with a lab assessment of 5 items, with a pass mark of 70%.

Administrators can copy this course into their own library and adapt it — edit the outline, change the duration, swap the assessment format, or ground it in internal documentation so answers cite the company's own source material.
