Microsoft Copilot for Developers: Core — Copilot Studio & Agents
Build and test Copilot Studio agents with scoped knowledge, actions/flows, validation, authentication boundaries and governed release
What this course covers
The course runs across 8 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.
- Copilot Studio: agent architecture — Fresh developer successor to old Studio course. Distinguish Studio agents, Microsoft 365 no-code Agent Builder and declarative agents.
- Topics, instructions and conversation design — Design boundaries, branching, fallback and entity inputs for supplied policy assistant; explicit success/stop rules.
- Knowledge and connector permissions — Use approved knowledge with least privilege and source freshness. Connector installation/admin access optional; supplied mock source equally valid.
- Actions and Power Automate integration — Design typed action contracts and approved flow handoffs with validation and human approval; simulated action receives same final credit.
- API actions and authentication boundaries — Validate request schema and authorization in action implementation; credentials outside source code, no production tokens.
- Tests, debugging and analytics — Test normal, exception, invalid and hostile-source inputs; inspect honest transcripts/evidence instead of claiming execution.
- Governance and ALM — Separate development/test/production environments, approval/publishing and rollback; no live deployment required.
- Capstone: tested Studio agent — Build or specify a policy assistant with knowledge, typed mock action, source checks, test log and environment/handoff plan.
Skills you build
Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.
Who it is for
Software developers and technical builders. The material is pitched at intermediate level, and takes roughly 150 minutes at a typical pace. Because every session adapts, someone who already knows a topic moves through it quickly instead of sitting through an explanation they do not need.
It sits in the Tool: Microsoft Copilot track of the Vero AI Catalog, and can be assigned to one person, a team, or the whole company.
How it is delivered and assessed
Delivery is conversational and interactive. There is no video to sit through and no slide deck to click past.
Understanding is checked with a lab assessment of 5 items, with a pass mark of 70%.
Administrators can copy this course into their own library and adapt it — edit the outline, change the duration, swap the assessment format, or ground it in internal documentation so answers cite the company's own source material.
