Making Grok yours: settings, data controls and workspaces — Tour Settings: Account (link your X account if you want), Usage (one weekly allowance shared across Grok's features) and Data Controls. Confirm which workspace you're in and keep company work in the Team workspace.
Working with long documents and large document sets — Upload long reports or several files at once, ask precise questions, and ask for section or page references so you can check each answer against the source. If your screen shows Projects, use it to keep a set of documents together for repeat questions.
Skills: teach Grok once, reuse everywhere — Use the built-in Skills (Word Documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets, PDFs and Skill Creator), then create your own for a task you repeat by describing it, uploading a file of instructions, or asking Grok to save a workflow it just did. Test it in a new chat and refine it.
Connectors across your work apps — See which connectors you have at grok.com/connectors (for example SharePoint, Teams, Salesforce, Notion, Box or GitHub), ask questions that draw on them, and check results against the source. On company plans only admin-added connectors appear; ask your admin, never work around it.
Grok inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Google Workspace — Use Grok beside your work with the Microsoft add-ins for Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook if your plan includes it, and the Google Workspace add-on for Docs, Sheets and Slides, where your company allows them. Changes are normal edits you can check and undo, and Outlook never sends anything until you press send.
Live monitoring with Search and X — Write search prompts with a date range and trusted source types to track a competitor, supplier or topic across the web and X. Ask for a link and date for every item, and keep confirmed facts separate from posts and rumours.
Automations: scheduled and email-triggered jobs — Create an automation at grok.com/automations or by asking Grok in chat: write the instructions, add connectors with @ and any Skills, set a schedule or an email trigger if your plan includes it, choose notifications, then click Run now to test. Every run is saved as a chat you can review and continue.
Sharing chats with teammates — In a Team workspace, share a chat with licensed teammates using the share button so they can pick up your work, and find chats shared with you under Shared with me in your history. Check what the chat contains before you share it.
Capstone: your recurring work, set up — Pick one task you repeat, set up a Skill and an automation for it (or written instructions if a feature isn't on your screen), run it once and show the before and after.

Skills you build

Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.
