ChatGPT: Mastery — Leading Work with ChatGPT

Lead reliable work with ChatGPT in any role using the 4Ds: delegation, description, discernment and diligence. Redesign a workflow, package expertise, supervise Work when it acts, run team tasks within your company's governance, and measure impact and spend without a technical background; code and integrations belong in ChatGPT for Developers.

What this course covers

The course runs across 10 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.

  • Delegation: choose the right ChatGPT approach — Choose Chat, Work, a Project, a Custom GPT, a plugin, a Scheduled or team task, deep research, a developer or a human for each part of the job; Work access is never required.
  • Description: supervise Work when it acts — Scope inputs, success, checkpoints and stop conditions; ask Work for a plan, answer its check-ins, approve consequential actions and stop a task that drifts. If Work is unavailable, a written approval plan earns equal credit.
  • Package expertise as a shared Custom GPT — Reusable policy instructions, knowledge, tests/review owner, approved workspace audience; Project instructions valid availability fallback.
  • Team tools: Projects, team tasks and plugins — Share context and handoffs through Projects, Custom GPTs and, where your plan includes them, team tasks and shared spaces. Team tasks run under a team account with admin-approved connections; check permissions and source freshness, and keep upload/paste paths equal.
  • Discernment: challenge numbers and claims — Audit totals and unsupported demand claim; distinguish figures, assumptions, citations and uncertainty; human checks for consequential conclusions.
  • Diligence: privacy, data, governance and accountability — Minimize access, classify allowed and excluded data, resist instructions hidden in sources, and know what admins control (plugins, actions, browser and network, spend, compliance visibility). Disclose AI use where policy requires and name the approver.
  • Write a specification someone can build — Plain-language developer handoff: users/inputs/outputs/tests/permissions/failures/approval; no API configuration or code.
  • Measure impact and spend without hiding quality losses — Compare the 90-minute sample baseline with an honest revised estimate, errors and review effort, and note that longer Work tasks use more of your plan's usage; include limitations and a rollback trigger, never invented measurements.
  • Lead adoption and handle pushback — Small pilot, owner/support/feedback; role-play colleague concerns about errors/workload; approved data access.
  • Capstone: redesign one workflow with the 4Ds — Assemble delegation/description/discernment/diligence, reusable GPT/Project, checkpoints, verified outputs, impact measures and rollout.

Skills you build

Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.

Who it is for

Experienced ChatGPT users in any role — no technical background needed. The material is pitched at expert level, and takes roughly 150 minutes at a typical pace. Because every session adapts, someone who already knows a topic moves through it quickly instead of sitting through an explanation they do not need.

It sits in the Tool: ChatGPT track of the Vero AI Catalog, and can be assigned to one person, a team, or the whole company.

How it is delivered and assessed

Delivery is conversational and interactive, including branching scenario, guided lab exercises. There is no video to sit through and no slide deck to click past.

Understanding is checked with a lab assessment of 5 items, with a pass mark of 70%.

Administrators can copy this course into their own library and adapt it — edit the outline, change the duration, swap the assessment format, or ground it in internal documentation so answers cite the company's own source material.
