1. What a program is

One initiative, many pieces

A program bundles courses, pathways, skill assessments, and assessment groups into one initiative, such as a Q4 AI readiness push, a sales enablement launch, or training you deliver to a client or partner. You deploy the pieces when you are ready and track the whole initiative in one place.

PathwayA sequence of courses a person completes for one credential.
ProgramThe wrapper around an initiative: several pathways, courses, and assessments, the people involved, the material used, and the reporting.

Programs is in the sidebar for Admins, Course Managers, and Managers.

2. Creating a program

Settings that shape the whole initiative

On Programs, click New program.

Name and DescriptionWhat the initiative is and why.
Starts and Target dateOptional dates for the initiative.
StatusDraft, Active, or Archived.
What material teaches this programYour company's material, this program's own material, or no organizational material (see below).
External cohortKeeps these people's results out of your company-wide reporting.
Show program name to learnersLabels the work with the program name on My Training.
Audience groupsFor reporting only. Nobody is assigned automatically.

3. Choosing the program's material

Whose knowledge Vero teaches from

Your company's materialYour Company Context and Knowledge Library, the same as any other training.
This program's own materialA separate profile and document library for this program only. Best when the program is for another organization, such as a client or a partner.
No organizational materialTeach each course exactly as written.

With its own material, the program gets a Knowledge tab where you upload its documents and fill in its profile. If you change the setting on a live program, Vero asks whether to apply it to assignments already in progress.

4. Adding and deploying items

Build the program, then release it

  1. On the Items tab, add courses, pathways, assessments, and assessment groups. Reorder them to match the rollout.
  2. Deploy one item with Assign, or use Assign all to step through each item's assign screen in turn.
  3. Set due dates and start dates on each assignment to stage the rollout.

You can also add a course or pathway to a program from its card or page with Add to program. Assignments made from a program are attributed to it automatically.

5. People

Who the program is for

On the People tab, click Add people. Each person shows their required items completed and overall progress. People you tag before deploying show Not yet assigned until an item is assigned to them. Admins can also tag people from Employees: tick rows and click Add to program.

6. Program analytics

Reporting on the initiative

The Analytics tab shows Assigned, Started, Completed, Completion, Total time, and At risk, with a progress funnel, the last 12 weeks of activity, results by item (assigned, started, completed, overdue, average score, and average minutes), the score distribution, level movement toward target, and a Needs attention list.

In Analytics, Training Performance and Workforce Skills, the scope selector lets you view a single program, your internal team, or everyone.

7. What learners see

Programs on My Training

If Show program name to learners is on, program work is grouped under the program's name on My Training with X/Y completed, and learners can filter their list by program.

8. Running and closing a program

Status, archive, and delete

  • Keep a program in Draft while you assemble it, then set it to Active.
  • Archive a finished program to keep its history and reporting.
  • Remove program documents from the Overview tab if you no longer need them.
  • A program can be deleted only if nothing has been deployed from it.

Tip: Use one program per client or partner cohort, with its own material and External cohort on. Their training reflects their organization, and your internal numbers stay clean.

9. Common questions

Quick answers

Does adding people to a program assign them training?

No. Tagging people is for reporting. Training is assigned when you deploy items from the Items tab.

Can a program use a client's documents instead of ours?

Yes. Choose This program's own material and upload the client's documents on the program's Knowledge tab.

Will a client cohort affect our company-wide analytics?

Not if you turn on External cohort. Their results stay out of company-wide reporting.

Can I delete a program?

Only if nothing has been deployed from it. Otherwise, archive it.

What is the difference between a program and a pathway?

A pathway is a sequence of courses for one credential. A program wraps a whole initiative: several pathways, courses, and assessments, the people, the material, and the reporting.
