What's New in Grok Bot for Everyone

A short refresher on the latest Grok Bot for Everyone updates

What this course covers

The course runs across 7 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.

  • Grok Bot: AI teammates with their own computer — What's different: xAI launched Grok Bot in beta, a separate app for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android where named Bots work on their own cloud computer, sign into your tools, keep going when you close your laptop, and check back with you for approvals. Why it matters for your work: You can hand off multi-step chores like inbox cleanup or website lookups instead of doing them one prompt at a time. Try it (about 2 minutes): Install the Grok Bot app, create your first Bot, and give it one small recurring task, like summarizing your unread email each morning. Needs: the Grok Bot app. No access? Here's what you'd see: Learners see the new Grok Bot app for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, and Android, featuring named Bots that run on cloud computers.
  • Grok Bot builds slide decks and living reports — What's different: Grok Bot can now make slide decks in PowerPoint or Google Slides and build Pages, such as reports, memos, and dashboards, that it keeps up to date. Why it matters for your work: A weekly status deck or report can be drafted and refreshed for you instead of rebuilt by hand. Try it (about 2 minutes): Ask your Bot to make a three-slide summary of this week's work in Google Slides, then ask it to turn the same content into a Page. Needs: the Grok Bot app. No access? Here's what you'd see: A Google Slides presentation and a Page document appear with the summary of your work.
  • Shared Bots: one shared Bot for a whole team — What's different: Teams and Enterprise plans can publish a shared Bot built around a team role, with shared files and skills, private chats for each person, and its own handle in Slack. Why it matters for your work: A team can lean on one well set-up helper, like a sales or data assistant, instead of everyone rebuilding the same setup. Try it (about 2 minutes): Start from a pre-built sales or marketing Shared Bot, add one team file as context, and share it with one teammate to test. Needs: the Grok Bot app. No access? Here's what you'd see: A Shared Bot chat appears with the team file available as context.
  • Tag @bot on X to hand posts to Grok Bot — What's different: Learners can now hand an X post to their Bot by tagging @bot on X, which requires a connected X account. Why it matters for your work: This allows users to seamlessly trigger workflows or send content directly from X to Grok Bot without manual copying. Try it (about 2 minutes): Connect your X account to Grok, find a post on X, reply to it tagging @bot, and check your Grok Bot app for the imported post. Needs: the Grok Bot app. No access? Here's what you'd see: Learners can connect their X account, tag @bot in an X reply, and see the imported post in their Grok Bot app.
  • 'Take over' action renamed to 'Open computer' — What's different: The action to manually control the cloud computer for passwords, CAPTCHAs, and payments is now called 'Open computer' instead of 'Take over'. Why it matters for your work: When a Bot encounters a secure step like a login or payment, you will look for the 'Open computer' button to take manual control. Try it (about 2 minutes): During a task requiring a login, wait for the prompt and click 'Open computer' to enter your credentials manually. Needs: the Grok Bot app. No access? Here's what you'd see: An Open computer button will appear when a Bot requires manual control for secure steps.
  • Also new — - Email trigger for routines: Routines can now be triggered by sending an email directly to the Bot. - Team Bots renamed to Shared Bots with new sharing controls: Team Bots are renamed to Shared Bots with new collaborator and manager roles. - Shopping results now show as product cards: Shopping results now display as swipeable product cards with a Buy now button. - Subscription templates find and cancel unused plans: New templates allow Bots to track, manage, and cancel unused subscriptions. - Grok Bot can use your phone's built-in apps: Grok Bot on iOS and Android can now integrate with built-in phone apps. - Grok Bot comes to Enterprise organizations: Grok Bot is now available to Enterprise organizations with advanced admin controls. - Saved skills are now requested by name instead of using the '/' command: Saved skills must now be requested by name instead of using the slash command. - Slack channel approvals restricted to the requesting user: Only the user who triggered a Bot action in Slack can answer its approval cards. - Unattended approval cards expiration extended to 30 minutes: Unattended approval cards for automated tasks now expire after thirty minutes instead of ten. - Access Shared Bot settings via Bot name instead of wrench icon: Shared Bot settings are now opened by clicking the Bot's name instead of a wrench icon. - and 2 more: Pages restricted on Enterprise teams; Connect Shop Pay as a payment method in Vault
  • Try one on your own work — Pick the one main change from this course that is most useful to your job. Try it in your own Grok Bot for Everyone on a real task, then paste or describe what you got. The coach gives short, specific feedback. No access to the app or plan it needs? Describe how you would use it on a real task this week. That counts too. There is no score and no pass or fail: finishing this completes the course.

Skills you build

Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.

Who it is for

The material is pitched at intermediate level, and takes roughly 20 minutes at a typical pace. Because every session adapts, someone who already knows a topic moves through it quickly instead of sitting through an explanation they do not need.

It sits in the Tool: Grok Bot track of the Vero AI Catalog, and can be assigned to one person, a team, or the whole company.

How it is delivered and assessed

Delivery is conversational and interactive. There is no video to sit through and no slide deck to click past.

Understanding is checked with a lab assessment, with a pass mark of 70%.

Administrators can copy this course into their own library and adapt it — edit the outline, change the duration, swap the assessment format, or ground it in internal documentation so answers cite the company's own source material.

  • Grok Bot for Developers: Core — Connections, Secrets & Event Routines — Wire Grok Bot into an engineering stack: whose account each app uses, custom MCP servers, secrets, and event routines from GitHub, Slack, Linear, Sentry, PagerDuty and webhooks with narrow matching and safe retries. Write skills that validate their own output, delegate coding to Cloud Agents, build engineering Pages, and build and share a simple engineering Bot through Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots) with a read-only key.
  • Grok Bot: Core — Skills, Routines & Pages — Turn one-off tasks into reliable, repeatable work. Learners save skills, teach a task when available, turn a tested skill into a routine, publish results as Pages, and build Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots): a simple one made from a skill that already works and shared with their team. They finish with one tested routine and a small Shared Bot their team can use.
  • What's New in Grok Bot for Developers — A short refresher on the latest Grok Bot connections, engineering routines and Shared Bots updates for developers
  • Grok Bot for Developers: Advanced — Shared Bots for Engineering — Run Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots) that an engineering org relies on: pick the right jobs, decide between owner-added apps and each person's own accounts, know where each conversation's work runs, and manage team memory, Bot settings and Collaborator and Manager roles. Add Auto-review rules for git, deploys and production dashboards, isolate sensitive workloads, and keep action logs you can audit.
  • Grok Bot: Essentials — Get everyday work done with Grok Bot. Learners set up a focused Bot, write clear requests, attach files, sign in safely, connect apps, handle approvals, and start using one of their team's Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots) in the app and in Slack. By the end they can take a read-and-prepare task from request to a reviewed, unsent result.
