Grok Bot for Developers: Essentials — Testing Playbook
A focused 45-minute playbook for testing with Grok Bot. Learners hand a Bot a small ticket-pricing module and a bug report, have it reproduce the bug on its cloud computer, run a post-release regression checklist and write a minimal failing test for the code owner. They finish by setting the job up as a Shared Bot the whole team can ask (Shared Bots were formerly called Team Bots), or by writing that setup down.
What this course covers
The course runs across 3 topics, each one a short adaptive session rather than a recorded lecture. The tutor explains the idea, works an example, checks understanding, and adjusts the next step to the answer given.
- Reproducing a reported bug with a Bot — Learners give a Bot the bug report and the code, have it save them in /workspace and reproduce the bug in its terminal, and get back a reproduction pack: exact inputs, the expected value from the policy, the actual value, and the command and output. On a staging website the Bot would sign up with a fresh test account, and the learner uses Open computer (then I'm done) for any password or code.
- Regression checks after a release, and a minimal test for the owner — Learners have the Bot run a release checklist case by case with expected, actual and pass or fail, separate facts from guesses about the cause with line numbers, and notice when one fix clears one case but not another. The Bot then writes the smallest failing test and a draft note to the code owner, without posting or filing anything.
- Shared Bots: set up bug reproduction as a Shared Bot — Learners turn the job into a Shared Bot (+ → Create a Bot, then Bot settings and Share → Who has access → your team): a reproduction skill, the checklist as a File, GitHub or Linear connected by each teammate with their own account, approval stops before anything is posted, and a one-sentence description in the Bot's voice. Learners without Shared Bots write the same setup down for equal credit.
Skills you build
Results are measured against named skills in the OneRange taxonomy of more than 10,000 skills, so a manager sees proficiency per skill rather than a completion tick.
Who it is for
Software developers. The material is pitched at beginner level, and takes roughly 45 minutes at a typical pace. Because every session adapts, someone who already knows a topic moves through it quickly instead of sitting through an explanation they do not need.
It sits in the Tool: Grok Bot track of the Vero AI Catalog, and can be assigned to one person, a team, or the whole company.
How it is delivered and assessed
Delivery is conversational and interactive, including code lab, branching scenario, guided lab exercises. There is no video to sit through and no slide deck to click past.
Understanding is checked with a lab assessment of 5 items, with a pass mark of 70%.
Administrators can copy this course into their own library and adapt it — edit the outline, change the duration, swap the assessment format, or ground it in internal documentation so answers cite the company's own source material.
Also in this track
- Grok Bot: Essentials — Get everyday work done with Grok Bot. Learners set up a focused Bot, write clear requests, attach files, sign in safely, connect apps, handle approvals, and start using one of their team's Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots) in the app and in Slack. By the end they can take a read-and-prepare task from request to a reviewed, unsent result.
- Grok Bot for Developers: Essentials — Incidents & Performance Playbook — A focused 45-minute playbook for incidents and performance work with Grok Bot. Learners hand a Bot a sampled request log and the deploy log from a latency regression, have it measure before and after on its cloud computer, and separate facts from hypotheses with the highest-impact cause first. They finish by setting up a recurring, read-only health report as a Shared Bot (Shared Bots were formerly called Team Bots), or by writing that setup down, with no unsupervised production changes.
- Grok Bot: Essentials — Sales & Accounts Playbook — A focused, 45-minute playbook for sales and account work in Grok Bot. Learners have a Bot research and score accounts against an ideal customer profile, prepare review-ready outreach drafts that are never sent, and build a weekly account-health watch list - then see the same job as one Bot the whole sales team can use through Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots).
- Grok Bot: Essentials — Chief of Staff Playbook — A focused, 45-minute playbook for running a daily digest with Grok Bot. Learners have a Bot pull email, Slack, calendar and notes into one source-linked digest, map it to priorities and the decisions an executive owes, tune out noise and schedule it - then see how a leadership team could share the same job through Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots).
- Grok Bot: Intro — A short first look at Grok Bot, the app where named AI teammates called Bots finish work inside your tools. Learners see how it differs from Grok, how a Bot uses its own cloud computer and stops for approval, and how Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots), one Bot the whole team chats with, differ from your own Bots, then hand a first Bot one small read-only task.
- Cursor & Grok Bot for Developers Pathway — One path for engineering teams that use Cursor with Grok Bot included. A placement check for each tool sends you to the right Cursor course and the right Grok Bot course. Also includes 8 optional playbooks (Testing, Code Review, Refactoring & Migration and Docs & Onboarding for Cursor; Testing, Code Review, Incidents & Performance and Docs & Onboarding for Grok Bot) to take any time after Essentials; they don't count toward the certificate.
- Grok Bot for Developers Pathway — Grok Bot for engineers and technical operators: Bots for engineering work, custom connections and secrets, event-triggered routines, engineering Shared Bots (formerly called Team Bots), and administering and securing Grok Bot across a company. Also includes 4 optional playbooks (Testing, Code Review, Incidents & Performance, Docs & Onboarding) to take any time after Essentials; they don't count toward the certificate.
