Bring your training to life with visuals — attach images and videos directly to topics, both when building a course and after it's published
Text-only training has a ceiling. Some concepts need a screenshot. Some procedures need a 30-second clip. Some products need to be seen. Starting today, every Vero course can carry images and videos — attached directly to the topic they belong to — and they show up inline in the learner's training chat at the exact moment the AI walks through that topic.
The model: media lives on topics
We considered a few designs and landed on the simplest one: media is scoped to a topic. There are no orphan images floating in the course, no separate media library tab, no third concept to keep in your head. The mental model is one sentence — a course is a set of topics, and each topic can carry its own images and videos.
Why this matters: the AI tutor already paces the conversation topic by topic. By tying media to a topic, every asset has a built-in context for when it should appear and what the learner is supposed to take away from it. Add a screenshot to the "Configuring the dashboard" topic and learners see it exactly when the tutor is walking them through that configuration — not five turns earlier or later.
Adding media while you build a course
Inside Create Course, the topics step now works like this: click Add to create a new topic, fill in the title and learning objective, and then — optionally — attach images or videos to that topic. The media controls live on the topic itself, not as a separate global action. If the topic doesn't need a visual, skip it. If it does, add one or many.
Adding media to a course that's already published
The same model holds after publish. Open any course from the Courses page, jump into a topic, and attach images or videos right there. Changes are tracked through course versioning, so your historical records of who completed what — at which version — stay accurate. Learners actively in the course see updates the next time they open it; finished learners keep credit against the version they completed.
Practically: there's nothing new to learn for published courses. It's the same Add and media controls you used during creation, in the same place on the topic. We were deliberate about not introducing a second, post-publish-only flow — consistency between "building" and "editing" keeps the surface area small.

- Captions on every asset, so learners get context and your training stays accessible
- Multiple items per topic, with manual ordering — handy for before/after comparisons or step-by-step screenshots
- Time-limited signed URLs at delivery, with storage scoped to your company — nothing leaks across tenants
Where learners see it
Media renders inline in the training chat as the AI tutor reaches each topic. Images appear in the conversation flow with their captions; videos are inline-playable so the learner doesn't have to leave the session. The AI also has awareness of what's attached to the current topic, so it can reference the visual in its explanation rather than acting like the asset isn't there.
PDF outline exports, PPTX, and SCORM packages all pick up topic media too, so what learners see in-app matches what shows up in any downloaded artifact.
A few practical tips
- One focused visual per topic beats three vaguely-related ones — the AI will land the point harder
- Use video for procedures (configure this, click that) and images for diagrams, screenshots, and reference visuals
- Write captions like alt text — what is this and why is the learner looking at it
- If a single visual spans multiple topics, duplicate it on each topic rather than trying to make one topic "own" it
